For the first HIP Council meeting of the year, representatives participated in a round-robin of sharing 2017 goals of their organizations. The meeting participants included Salud Para La Gente, Kaiser Permanente, Central CA Alliance for Health, County Human Services Department, County Health Services Agency, Hospice of Santa Cruz County, Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust, Santa Cruz Community Health Centers, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Dientes Community Dental, Sutter Maternity & Surgery Center, the Office of Senator Monning, the Office of Assemblymember Mark Stone, Santa Cruz County Medical Society, Planned Parenthood Mar Monte and Dominican Hospital.
Although HIPC participants face the uncertainty of a repeal of the Affordable Care Act, organizational leaders presented optimistically on their 2017 goals. The collective updates resulted in a “word salad” of positive and aspirational goals with reoccurring themes.
